In 2005, we concluded an agreement with the municipality of Dordrecht to build a hotel-restaurant with a large vegetable garden on the banks of the Wantij river. The location was a derelict water treatment complex, whose water tower and pump house, both completed in 1881, had stood the test of time. An intensive and fascinating renovation project brought both monumental buildings back to life, as a hotel and a restaurant with an indoor market.

In the middle of the complex, we created an orchard, greenhouses, the Limonaia lemon tree hothouse, and a large vegetable garden which provides the restaurant with fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs throughout the year. In 2007, we welcomed our first guests at Villa Augustus. In the summer of 2018, the hotel was extended with eight floating rooms on a former floating office owned by the Port of Rotterdam, dating back to 1905.
